Survival Snake Bite Kit

The Survival Snake Bite Kit includes everything you need to treat Australian snake bites. Venom doesn't directly enter the bloodstream at the bite site, it first travels in the lymphatic to the lymph nodes at which point it enters the bloodstream and becomes life threatening.

The vessels of the lymphatic system rely on muscle movement. This means the pressure immobilisation system is highly effective in buying time to transport patients to expert care. This treatment relies on limiting lymphatic flow with a bandage and stopping muscle movement using splint methods.

The Survival Snake Bite Kit includes two of the revolutionary SMART Bandages which use a clever pictogram to demonstrate how to achieve correct tension when applying a pressure immobilisation bandage. They make it easier to get the pressure exactly right - tight enough to stop lymphatic movement, but not too tight to impact on blood flow.

The SMART Bandage pictogram is a simple rectangle that becomes a square when optimal tension has been achieved.

The kit includes a splint to help immobilise smaller joints which can be supplemented with improvised equipment.
